Premier Building Systems Introduces New Zero-VOC SIPs Mastic
(Fife, WA) – In keeping with its company mission to improve the environment, Premier Building Systems has introduced a new Zero-VOC Mastic to its line of premium accessory products. This new Zero-VOC Mastic can be used in lieu of Premier’s traditional mastic when installing the company’s energy-efficient structural insulated panels (SIPs).
The mastic will be showcased at the West Coast Green 2008 tradeshow being held at the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose, CA from September 25 – 27. Premier’s booth number at the show is 142.
The new environmentally friendly mastic consists of polymers that are designed to remain flexible, yet provide a tight seal that eliminates water vapor and air infiltration into a building. Able to resist moisture, dampness, and temperature fluctuations, the mastic is one of the most effective sealants available on the market.
The mastic is packaged in 20 oz sausage packs, which are smaller than the packaging for the traditional mastic. The sausage pack, unlike tube mastics, compress down to a small puck which reduces on-site waste and minimizes landfill space. By eliminating waste and reducing VOC’s, the mastic helps buildings achieve LEED® recognition.
“The new mastic has become popular with many of our building owners, consultants and architects,” said Tom Savoy, technical director for Premier Building Systems. “The properties of this product are virtually identical to our traditional mastic, but it eliminates emissions and helps contribute to a building’s LEED recognition – two increasingly important aspects of the growing “green” movement.”
