Design Sustainable West Oakland
This 1:30 – 6:30 Friday afternoon Charrette moderated by John Knott is designed to deliver a process as well as tangible outcomes for re-developing an economically, socially and environmentally sustainable West Oakland. In your Program Guide it is titled Creating Regenerative Developments, Part I, II, and III. Participate in this Charrette with all levels of the community: Government, Non-Profits, Business, Designers, and Citizens. Meet in the Almaden Ballroom in the Hilton. Space in this event is limited.
Masters of Green Building and Design
We don’t want to scare anyone away from this who might be too modest about their own accomplishments over time. If you think you are an early adopter convene during lunch on Saturday in the Action Hub (Room F) and through to 2:30pm on how to develop yourself and your networks. Jon Alexander has done some interviews with Masters that you can see here.
Networking Cafes – With your Coffee in Hand
Some of these take place in the Action Hub. They will be held each morning from 8 – 9. In three rooms. They will be facilitated so you can come and accelerate your connections. Think Speed dating. Click here to check out an affinity group and a time.
Conversation Forums – Lunch with Experts
Grab your lunch and come to share ideas with an expert. Each expert will host one of nine tables in this space. They will pose three questions to address in conversation with you. This is a great opportunity to get the questions answered and meet people that can launch you into new possibilities. Click here to see a schedule.
Designing a Mars Community
This is a way to put all you’ve learned into a scenario. On Friday in the Action Hub, Room F from 3:00 – 4:00. You can participate in a hands-on, brainstorming workshop facilitated by Mars experts from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory who will challenge you to push beyond conventional ideas and consider the future of sustainability as you rethink energy, food, waste, and habitat design solutions for a future Martian community of 100 people.
